*Our horses can carry approximately 20% of their body weight. They are approximately 1000 pounds. For the rider's safety, and the safety of our horses, please call in advance if you have any questions concerning a weight limit, or the rider's weight exceeds 200 pounds for further accommodations. It is usually a height to weight ratio. If a person is over 200lbs., is unable to mount a horse by themselves, or the horse is unable to naturally carry the weight, the rider may be asked to dismount, or stay in the arena at a walk. If this is the case, there will be no refund. We find, taller, more muscular built riders, can usually be higher in weight, than shorter, less muscular builds. For ex: a person that weighs 215lbs, but is only 5'1" is probably too heavy, while a 6'3" 230lb rider, will probably be fine. ALWAYS make direct contact with someone at Chisholm Trail Rides, by calling ahead, prior to booking a ride or purchasing riding hours, if any rider is over 200lbs. Once a booking has been done, there will be no refunds, as it has now prohibited qualified riders from booking. Please make and receive direct contact from Chisholm Trail Rides via phone, email, or text before booking or buying riding hours or items.
The employees at Chisholm Trail Rides reserve the right to keep the rider from participating on said trail for the safety of the rider and/or animal. Should this occur, the rider will be asked to dismount, book a lesson and reschedule a future trail at an additional cost. Once a ride has been booked, thus prohibiting other riders from attaining that particular appointment time, a refund will not be applicable. Riders are always given the option of using their first hour as a preparation lesson, and purchasing a future hour for trail, at the same price as the lesson. Therefore, riders reserve a horse, and a time for a trail. If a rider is unable to safely ride their horse on trail at said juncture, the reservation is not transferable to another time. This is done for the safety of the rider and/or the animals. We highly encourage our riders to accurately assess their riding skills to determine whether or not a preparatory lesson might be appropriate. We also encourage riders to contact Chisholm trail rides prior to booking, and receive a response, for any subjects that may preclude a rider from trail, or riding. Riders choosing to use American Express credit cards as payment for rides, forfeit the right to do a chargeback with this company. No Chargebacks may be made by riders using an American Express credit card payment, this is due to this credit card company.
Any cancellations within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment, a $20 rescheduling fee may be applied. Please make direct contact with Chisholm Trail Rides if facing this situation. If a ride must be postponed due to weather, a comp. code, for a like ride, will be issued. A rider(s) may reschedule at their choice time, or gift their comped ride, to another rider. Hours do not have an expiration date. If rides/hours are gifted, it is the responsibility of the original booking party to inform any future rider with gifted hours, of all limitations, whether they pertain to type of ride, Chisholm trail rides polices, or other terms, limitations, policies, etc. pertaining to riding with Chisholm trail rides. Hours do not expire. Chisholm Trail rides may choose to not ride a rider if safety concerns for the animal or rider are at hand. Riders using extreme anger, threats, or bad moral behavior may be refused to use hours. Chisholm Trail Rides cares about their current and potential rider's experience deeply, Therefor all phone calls to and from Chisholm Trail Rides, an employee or management, or higher, may be recorded.
Due to safety concerns, all riders must be able to speak and understand English. If a rider cannot, Chisholm Trail rides must be informed prior to booking, and rides will be decided on a case by case decision. Please make and receive direct contact from Chisholm Trail Rides via phone, email, or text before booking or buying riding hours or items.
We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason.
Discount coupons are *NOT* valid on holidays.
* a "ponied" ride refers to a rope that is connected from another horse, to a guides hand, thus allowing the guide to have control of another riders horse. This is usually done in the case of a rider unable to safely, consistently, communicate with the horse while on the horses back in a riding capacity.
