Our private 2 and 3-hour "Total Access" immersions allow you to choose your pace: ride the full duration or shorten saddle time to enjoy a real "stick-to-your-ribs" Texas comfort meal pond-side. With unique sandy loam soil, our trails are rideable 365 days a year. Perfect for families, beginners, and experts seeking an unhurried, presence-based escape just east of Dallas.

Some guests come for a quiet ride together. Others come to reconnect, learn, or simply slow down for a while. Out here, the experience isn’t rushed. Our true pleasure horses are trained to listen and bond with their riders, allowing each ride to unfold naturally — whether you're talking, laughing, or just taking in the view.

Time on the ranch doesn’t end when the ride does. Guests often linger by the pond, watch the horses graze, or sit quietly in the shade. These are the moments that tend to stay with people — the calm, the space, and the feeling of stepping away from everything for a little while.
Please reach us at support@chisholmtrailrides.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Every ride at Chisholm Trail Rides is a Fully Guided Experience. Your guide acts as your dedicated ranch attendant for your entire "Total Access" window. Whether you are navigating 1,000 acres of sandy loam trails or transitioning to your "Real Home Cooking" pond-side picnic, your guide is there to handle the horses, capture your memories on an Insta360, and ensure your analog-free escape is seamless.
Not at all. Your booking represents a "Total Access" window of private time on the ranch. You lead the pace and choose the ratio of "Saddle Time" to "Soak Time." If you want to spend every minute on the trail, you are welcome to do so. If you choose a catered picnic, you can shorten your ride whenever you are ready to transition to your meal.

Most guests who choose our "Real Home Cooking" catered picnic find that riding for 60–90 minutes (for the 2-hour) or 2–2.5 hours (for the 3-hour) provides the perfect balance. It is the identical experience of having a friend with a ranch; simply let your guide know when you’ve had your fill of the trail, and they will lead you to the pond where your hearty Texas comfort meal is waiting.
We don't believe in "box lunches"—we serve real, stick-to-your-ribs Texas home cooking. You can expect hearty main plates like Meatloaf, Chicken & Dumplings, or Chicken Fried Steak, accompanied by two veggies and your choice of sweet tea, unsweet tea, or soda. Our meals are Texas-size, cooked fresh, and ready for a real ranch appetite.
The 3-Hour Whimsical Wandering is our premier offering because it allows for total immersion into the 1,000-acre "living land." It is designed for those who want the afternoon to disappear, providing enough time to explore the furthest reaches of the ranch—including wide sand belts and private hallways of nature—and perfectly balance a long ride with a full, catered comfort meal.
Our Semi-Private Ranch Retreat is a fully guided experience designed for mixed small groups to enjoy the trail together. While you still receive the same high-touch service and "true pleasure horses" found in our private tiers, you will be sharing the landscape with other guests. This is the ideal format for those who enjoy the communal energy of a shared ranch journey while maintaining a side-by-side, "no nose-to-tail" environment.
Yes. Part of our "analog-free" promise is that you stay in the moment while we handle the technology. Your guide captures candid photos and Insta360 clips of your side-by-side journey so you have professional-grade memories without ever reaching for your phone.
We are located in a unique lakeside basin adjacent to Lake Tawakoni. Our 1,000 acres feature "private hallways of nature"—open lanes of grass flanked by ancient trees—and 8 to 10 serene ponds. Because of our unique sandy loam soil and "sand belts," our trails remain stable and rideable 365 days a year, even when the heavy clay of the surrounding DFW area is bogged down.
Absolutely. The ranch itself is the ultimate catalyst for bonding. Whether you are a couple seeking quietude or a family looking to reconnect, the "living land" speaks to you. Our side-by-side riding format fosters real conversation and presence, making it a premier destination for wellness and connection.
